“You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.” — C.S. Lewis
The beauty of my work comes from my innate ability to embrace the soul of this season in your life and suspend it in time. Without that endowment it's just good light, nice composition and a great camera. And without any of those things, you just have faces on a piece of glossy (or hopefully matte!) paper. Photographs last for generations. Your most precious memories and emotions should too.
I'm a little bit country, but I appreciate rock n' roll. I was raised to follow that still, small voice inside of me rather than a set of rules laid out by someone else, to believe that dreams do come true, to work hard and love others, and I was raised to enjoy getting a little dirty in the process. Nothing makes me happier than a day outside with the people I love most. Rock climbing, running through the woods, hiking, riding a horse, or just sitting by the beach watching the tide roll in is my therapy. I love my family fiercely, and I honor honesty over any other virtue. I think jeans are the best kind of clothing and even better if they are well-worn and torn at the knees! I like boots with dresses and I get butterflies in my stomach at the site of an old pickup truck. Sometimes I talk too much and I over think everything, but I am constantly trying to simplify. I believe a field of green grass covered by a Carolina blue sky and puffy, white "pillow clouds" can fix just about anything. Having had my fair share of pain and turmoil, I still believe in the good life, fairy tales and miracles too. My clients aren't just people to take pictures of. My joy is to build relationships with the people I photograph, and I love being there to capture a family as it grows up.
